Izem's feedback – “In this role, I got a chance to learn new skills such as Photoshop while enhancing the digital presence of PETAL. It was enjoyable to bring together all my learnings about marketing, strategy, digital marketing and social media. This was a comprehensive role and I felt that it really contributed to my learnings. Also, it was very exciting to be a part of the PETAL management team, they were open to my suggestions and very supportive. I would recommend this programme to other students."
Izem Saglik - MSc E Business and Innovation Masters Student at Lancaster University
Helen’s feedback- "Having recently acquired the business following an MBO we realised the need to address our social media marketing including how we present our business / staff, how to best advertise our products and how we use the information / leads gained to our best advantage.
Lancaster University is on our door step, but the thought to contact them had never occurred to us until we contacted Boost Lancashire. Following this meeting contact with the university has opened numerous doors across various departments within the university campus.
The business advisor’s knowledge, support and gentle guidance was key in the process of deciding what we hoped to achieve and how the university could help. Her knowledge and constant “words of wisdom” played an important part in our final selection of Izem Saglik.
Izem had no prior knowledge of the timber industry or our business, but she grasped the tasks that were assigned to her and used her own initiative to go and find things out about the industry, who the players are, the business environment and what makes it tick. She came back with thoughts and ideas that we had not considered and how best to implement those and make the best use of today’s technologies and e-commerce processes. In a short space of time Item’s work has made measurable improvements in our business and we now feel we are reaching a wider potential market which will ultimately improve our market share.
Working with Izem, and listening to her suggestions, whilst reviewing the details she was able to present on our competitors made us realise the importance of digital marketing to our business.
In the time we have worked with Izem the knowledge she has instilled on us has helped our business overcome the challenge of bringing our digital image in to the 21st century, which will aid the company’s ambition to grow and become one of the UK market leaders.
Izem is hard working and conscientious. She is able to quickly grasp what is asked of her and is not afraid to ask if she does not fully understand her remit. She is able to work independently and as part of a team. Her presentations are clear and concise and she is able to get her message across in an easily understandable way, something that in today’s fast moving technological world is not so easy for companies who are not as update with technological advances that they should be
Since the completion of the internship, it became apparent that a little more time was required to bring the project to a satisfactory point, to this end we continued to work with Izem on an adhoc basis, we are just disappointed that the company is not in a position to offer a full time graduate position to Izem as it is without question she will go on in her career to be a major asset to any company who are fortunate enough to employ her
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the UNITEPlus team for their invaluable support over recent months."
