“The initial inquiry to the university was made via a mutual networking. Although I had no expectations we actually closed the advert early when we received 25 applications within 48 hours. The Uniteplus and ERS team cleansed the candidates leaving me with 3 students and my adviser was more than happy to support me in the interview process. My experience with Angela was excellent and I do not think the programme would have run as smoothly without her input.
Working with a graduate was new to me, I found Katie eager and great on delivering the project activities in a timely manner. The placement was an enormous help to the business especially in having the content referenced to avoid any issues along the way with plagiarism. Katie also created a number of blogs and research papers allowing me to keep our news desk updated on relevant posts.
Having the extra support from the Uniteplus graduate placement allowed me to focus more and I think had I not been able to hand the work over to Katie I would not have moved forward with other areas.....
……I will in the future look at other opportunities with the university that might create a role for a student or graduate, and consider whether my need to bring in more support staff could start with a graduate programme.”
Mel Joseph - Managing Director
“Working with a small business has definitely given me much more pride in my work, as I am constantly aware that everything I do will impact the business in a more profound way than it would in the context of a bigger business with more employees to contribute. Having UNITEplus act as an intermediate was useful for the sheer fact that they paired Mente and myself together, but also because of their supportive nature throughout the project.” …….
………..The Mente project has introduced me to a range of opportunities and has allowed me to rethink my career path so I will be spending a year working to get experience with mental health and support working before my masters degree.”
